Chiropractic care is designed to put your body through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. Here are a list of the general phases of care that your body will go through after sustaining an injury. These phases are important to understand as they will be the foundation to the treatment plan the doctor will create for you.
Phase 1: Relief Phase of Care
If you are in pain when coming into our office, our main goal is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your injury, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for an extended period of time. Phase 2: Corrective Phase of Care
During this stage of care, muscles and other tissues are allowed more time to heal correctly in order to prevent re-injury or future injury. This phase can be one of the most important. |
Phase 3: Strengthening Phase of Care
During this phase of care, it is important to build strength in the areas of injury after the healing process has taken place. The number of visits to your chiropractor will decrease during this stage. Phase 4: Maintenance Phase of Care
Once your body has fully healed and strength has been regained or improved, it is vital for your health to continue care to prevent problems in the future. Periodic adjustments will help improve the health and function of your spine and joints and improve nerve function throughout the body. |
