Various Treatment Modalities
Depending on the injury you have sustained, the doctor will decide what treatment protocol that is best for you and explain the various physiological mechanisms that are taking place. These various treatment modalities will increase the rate of healing time and bring you back to your daily activities. If you have any additional questions regarding the treatment modalities we offer, please call (909) 989-6980 and a staff member will be happy to answer your questions.
Flexion-Distraction (Lumbar Decompression)Flexion distraction for lower back pain and sciatic pain. Flexion distraction involves the use of a specialized table that gently distracts, or stretches, the spine. The chiropractor is able to isolate the area of pain while slightly flexing the spine in a pumping rhythm, bringing nutrients back in to an injured lower back or herniated disc for a speedy recovery.

Cervical and Lumbar Traction (Decompression)Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine caused by various spinal conditions. Spinal traction is used to treat a wide variety of conditions such as: Herniated discs, sciatica, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, spinal stenosis and many other conditions. After a thorough evaluation, our doctor will determine is spinal decompression therapy is right for you.

Muscle TherapySoft tissue damage and pain from acute injuries, repetitive trauma or decreased blood flow can lead to the formation of scar tissue and altered muscle movement and tone. Through various myofascial release techniques, these improper muscle imbalances are removed and conditions leading to pain, weakness and nerve entrapment are avoided.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue MobilizationInstrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation or Simply IASTM is a new range of tool which enables clinicians to efficiently locate and treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction.
IASTM is performed with ergonomically designed instruments that detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localization and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, chronic inflammation, or degeneration. As in any Manual therapy treatment, supplementation with exercises and additional modalities e.g. joint mobilization designed to correct biomechanical deficiencies by addressing musculoskeletal strength and muscle imbalances throughout the entire kinetic chain should be used in conjunction with IASTM. Instruments effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. The ergonomic design of these instruments provides the clinician with the ability to locate restrictions and allows the clinician to treat the affected area with the appropriate amount of pressure. |
Y-Strap Distraction AdjustmentThe Y-Axis Traction Strap uses stretching and distraction to correct dysfunction in the neck, spine and temporomandibular joints. This procedure is great for patient who that require a long axis distraction adjustment and can also be used for disc related injuries of the neck to provide a pumping-like motion to increase mobility and nutrients into our discs and joints.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)Using the most up to date electrical muscle stimulation, we are able to increase blood circulation, maintaining or increasing range of motion in the joint, relaxation of muscle spasms, muscular re-education, symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain and treatment and management of post-surgical or traumatic pain.
|
UltrasoundTherapeutic ultrasound is applied using a round head in direct contact with the skin. It is used to speed up the healing process by increasing blood flow to the area and decreasing swelling and pain. Ultrasound can also be used to create a deep heat in a localized area to ease muscle spasms and increase soft tissue extensibility prior to stretching.
